Sports Almeria, activities that can be enjoyed include:

Sailing, surfing, boating, water-skiing and jet-skiing. Sea fishing is available by boats based in the port of Garrucha or standing with your rod on the shoreline. Either way, you are sure to be rewarded by the rich local marine life and the beauty of this part of the Mediterranean. In the clear and tepid waters of our virgin coves, you’ll discover urchins, star fish, sponges, coral, snails, squids, octopus and jellyfish. True fish include many local and colourful Mediterranean species to delight submariners and divers.

There are plenty of other sports for beach fans, such as football, canoeing, windsurfing, volleyball and even table tennis at the various centres and installations provided for this activity. If your fancy is a game of Petanca (a continental version of bowls), you can always find some enthusiastic players waiting for a game with you at one of the various courts under the trees planted along the coastline.

The mountains of the region offer extraordinary views and agreeable all-year-round climate ideal for hiking, exploring and climbing, with innumerable footpaths and trails to be enjoyed.

Horse riding, a game of tennis, or squash, paddle-tennis, mini-golf or lawn-bowls, or perhaps even a micro-light sortie over our panoramic landscapes are just some of the many other sporting options available. The consolidation of Mojácar as a golf destination can be justified fundamentally on three characteristics: the climate, the quality of the installations and the diversity of the courses found locally.  Nearby courses include; Marina Golf, Desert Springs, Valle del Este and Cortijo Grande.  Please visit our Golf Course section in Areas.
